KIDS ZONE

Children are a very integral part of Relish, and it wouldn’t be what it is without their energy and joy. We encourage parents to bring their children along for the whole duration of the gathering, as we believe it’s a great opportunity for children to have the freedom to really be themselves and learn through interacting with the amazing environment that is created for the weekend.

Things to do:

Relish supports children to be part of the festivities in numerous ways. Below is a list of the things on offer for them and their parents to enjoy:

• Family Camping Zone: There is a dedicated family camping zone set aside for families to base themselves. It is close to the main village, but far enough away not to be too loud. This allows friends and family to camp together, and for children to feel safe and able to find their way around the grounds.

• Kids Zone: This is a children-dedicated space where kids can create, dress-up, get their face painted, read a book, relax and feel safe. The zone is placed in a creatively decorated marquee and is co-created with the help of Relish parents. There is no particular person manning the space all the time - instead we encourage all parents whose children use the zone to look after it, and communicate with their children about respecting and caring for the space provided for them. We would love parents to bring any dress-ups, toys, arts and craft items, face-paints or any other things they think will benefit the space. Please get in touch if you think this is you.

• Movie Tent: That’s right, a movies at Relish! Movies will be on offering at nighttime in the Expand! Workshop Yurt for everyone including little people. We just ask that everyone using the space respects the zone and leaves it as tidy as they found it.

• Kids Workshops: We will have many kids workshops on offer, from music, to family acro yoga, to blowing bubbles, to adventures. If you think you have a workshop you would like to hold for the little people, then get in touch! Please email relishfestivalkids@gmail.com, we would love to hear about your ideas.

• Kids Disco: Relish encourages children to be part of the party, and to help facilitate this Relish puts on a kids disco, with their own DJ! Dress-ups highly encouraged. Look out for it, info will be in the Kids programme.

• The Kitchen: There is always food coming out of the communal kitchen, and children can pop in there any time to find sustenance and comfort.
