THE MUSIC OF RELISH

“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” (Plato)

Relish dances to a high fidelity sound with a warm deep bass that holds us gently but firmly, anchoring us in a rich luscious space to let loose, shake it out, and celebrate together. The lineup is an eclectic combination of live, electronic, DJ collaborative and acoustic sessions, that produce pulsating funkaliscious beats to enrich and enliven the audience.

Music is where the magic happens, and the dance floors of Relish express this. They create a safe place to be completely yourself, however that looks and feels. For us, it’s all about the people who gather together to dance and move, a communion of like-minded souls. The energy created by this emanates out, so the magic keeps flowing.

The musicians who perform are chosen both for their talents and the belief that they will resonate with the ethos of Relish. They are encouraged to immerse themselves in the festival and stay for the duration of the event, thereby becoming part of the Relish family. This adds to the quality of their performances, and allows for spontaneous collaborations between artists.

WHEN DOES THE MUSIC HAPPEN

Music happens from Thursday evening right through to Sunday night. The Boogie Down Tent holds the live stage and the massively gorgeous Cerwin-Vega sound system, with beautiful sound that moves your body without damaging your ears. It allows for people to hold a conversation anywhere on the dance floor. The Main Tent is open each of the nights, and is closed down during the day. The Chill Zone will lead people on through the early hours of the morning, allowing rest and relaxation, and the newly added Day Party space will get people moving on Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the daylight hours.

This year we are also adding a Forest Dance Floor Zone, for dancing in the early hours of the morning. This is a new addition to the event, so watch this space!
